Seeing some weird requisition freezes.

What's up folks. So, I work in [Department, e.g., Merchandising] and we've had a couple of open reqs that have just... vanished. No explanation, no movement. HR is being super cagey about it. My manager just shrugged and said 'budget review,' but that feels like a brush-off. It's not just my department either; I've heard similar stories from a couple of friends in totally different areas of the company. Is this the precursor to something bigger? Feels a bit uneasy. Any other departments seeing similar freezes or hiring slowdowns? Trying to figure out if I should be updating my resume or if this is just normal Q1/Q2 sluggishness.

Yeah, definitely seeing some of that over in Logistics too. We had a couple of key roles we were trying to fill for months, and suddenly they just disappeared from the system. Nobody's giving us a straight answer, just the usual corporate speak about 'strategic realignment.' It's making planning really difficult when you don't know if you'll have the headcount you were counting on. Hope it's not a sign of tougher times ahead, but it's hard not to worry.

Interesting that you're seeing this too. In our store operations support team, we've had requisitions for essential back-office positions just stall out. They were approved, posted, interviews were scheduled, and then poof. It's creating bottlenecks and making it harder to support the stores. Management's response has been pretty vague, which is frustrating. Makes you wonder if there's a broader hiring freeze or restructuring happening that they're not communicating openly.
