Bio-Rad LSI - Is the hiring freeze a sign of things to come?

So, my manager mentioned the hiring freeze is still in effect for most LSI roles. It's been on for a while now, and I'm starting to wonder what it really means. Usually, a freeze means things are tight, and that can sometimes precede layoffs. Has anyone else heard anything about this being a precursor to something bigger at Bio-Rad? It feels different from past hiring pauses. We've had some projects slowed down, and there's definitely a sense of 'doing more with less' creeping in. Is anyone in a department that *is* still hiring, or is it pretty much across the board? Just trying to get a pulse on the situation before year-end. Any insights from people who've seen this cycle before at Bio-Rad would be appreciated.
