Bio-Rad LSI - Layoff rumors circulating - what's the truth?

Seriously, what is going on at Bio-Rad LSI? There's been talk of layoffs for weeks now, but nothing concrete is being said. My manager is super vague when asked directly, just giving the usual 'we're always evaluating our resources' line. I've seen a couple of people suddenly 'resign' or get escorted out. It's not a mass exodus, but it's enough to create a lot of anxiety. Is anyone in a position to know what's happening? Are there actual numbers or departments being targeted?
