BlackRock - Anyone seeing hiring slowdown/freeze?

Hey everyone, seeing some chatter online (saw a HN post from late last year) about potential headcount reductions at BlackRock. While nothing official seems to have dropped recently, I've noticed a definite slowdown in my team's hiring pipeline. We've had a couple of requisitions get put on indefinite hold, and I haven't seen many new roles posted compared to this time last year. Just wondering if others are experiencing something similar across different divisions? Is it a general market correction, or something more specific to BLK? Curious to hear what others are hearing or seeing on the ground. Trying to get a sense of the internal climate. Feels a bit uncertain.

Definitely seeing a similar pattern here, though not officially confirmed. A few roles in my department have been ghosting for weeks, and the usual buzz of new openings just isn't there. It feels less like a minor dip and more like a deliberate, widespread pause. Wondering if it's sector-specific or a broader strategy shift for the firm heading into the next fiscal year.

Yeah, the hiring pipeline has certainly tightened up. It's not a complete stop, but the pace has slowed considerably, and approvals are taking much longer. Some requisitions that would have been filled in a month are now stalled indefinitely. Curious to hear if this is concentrated in certain areas or a firm-wide initiative to manage costs.
