BlackRock - Seeing a lot of performance reviews lately...

Hey everyone, just wanted to start a thread and see if anyone else is experiencing a similar vibe at BLK. Over the past month or so, it feels like there's been an unusually high volume of performance review meetings happening across different teams. It's not just the usual annual cycle either; some people are getting called in for mid-year check-ins that feel a bit more intense than usual. My manager has been pretty cagey when I've asked about broader team or company strategy, just reiterating the importance of individual contributions and hitting targets. Feels like a lot of pressure, and with the general market sentiment and the buzz about potential cuts elsewhere in finance, it's hard not to get a little anxious. Is this just a standard performance management push, or does anyone else suspect something more is brewing? Trying to stay focused, but the uncertainty is definitely a drag.

Seems like a lot of companies are tightening belts and reassessing talent, especially in this economic climate. Could be a proactive move by BlackRock to ensure they're positioned correctly for the future, or perhaps a response to shifts in the market. It's understandable to feel a bit unsettled when performance reviews become more frequent, but sometimes it's just about course correction. Hopefully, the clarity you're seeking regarding strategy will come soon.
