Just got the news today, and my whole team is gone. Block laid off over 4,000 people, and it hit us hard. The email was cold, impersonal, just a standard HR script. We were told it was a 'strategic realignment' and 'evolving business needs.' Honestly, it feels like a punch in the gut. I've been pouring my heart into this company for years, and now I'm just... out. No warning, no real explanation beyond corporate jargon. They mentioned 'streamlining operations' but didn't specify what that actually means for our roles. The lack of transparency is infuriating. Trying to figure out my next steps, but mostly just feeling numb and angry right now. This isn't how you treat people who've dedicated themselves to your company. Anyone else affected by this wave? This is absolutely brutal. Reading about your experience and your team getting blindsided like that is incredibly disheartening. 'Strategic realignment' and 'evolving business needs' are such hollow phrases when they result in thousands losing their livelihoods. I'm so sorry to hear about the massive layoffs at Block and, more importantly, about your personal experience.
