Yeah, the layoff axe fell at Block today. Got the dreaded email this morning, along with a bunch of my team. No real warning, just a swift kick out the door. They're spouting the usual lines about restructuring and future focus, but it feels like a punch to the gut. Especially when you hear about the stock jumping right after. Makes you wonder who actually benefits from this. I've been here for years, pouring everything into my work, and now it's just... over. The severance package is okay, I guess, but it doesn't make up for the shock and the uncertainty. Trying to process it all and figure out the next steps. If anyone else got hit or has any advice on navigating this, please share. This is brutal.

That's incredibly rough, truly sorry to hear you and your team are going through this. It's a sickening feeling to give so much and then be treated like a disposable asset. The disconnect between leadership's actions and the impact on actual people is always the most galling part. Hope you can find some breathing room to figure out your next steps, and that the severance offers some minimal comfort in this awful situation.
