Just wanted to share my perspective, as someone who was unfortunately impacted by the recent Block layoffs. The announcement itself was sudden, and the communication, frankly, was lacking. We received the news via a company-wide email with minimal detail beyond the official 'restructuring' and 'efficiency' narrative. The severance package was... okay, but not exactly generous considering the circumstances. The biggest challenge now is the job market. It's brutal out there. Networking feels more critical than ever, but it's also draining. Trying to put a brave face on during interviews when you're still processing the shock is tough. It's a harsh reminder of how quickly things can change in this industry, regardless of your performance or tenure. Anyone else going through something similar? Any tips on staying sane and motivated during this search would be greatly appreciated.
