Just saw the official WARN notice for the Herndon office. It’s official—162 people are getting cut as of July 31st. We’ve been hearing whispers about restructuring for months, but seeing the actual numbers in the public filing makes it feel way too real. I’m in a different department, but the mood in the Slack channels is absolute silence. It’s hard to stay focused when you’re constantly refreshing your email waiting for a calendar invite from HR. Does anyone know if this is limited to the VA hub, or is the rest of the company expected to see similar headcount reductions by Q3? Really feeling for the folks caught in this. It is always brutal to see the numbers hit the WARN site. I have been through a couple of these reorgs before, and the silence in the chat is exactly how you know morale has completely bottomed out. People are just bracing for the next shoe to drop. If you are not on the list, take a deep breath and update your resume anyway—it is just the reality of the industry right now. Don't let the anxiety kill your productivity, but definitely keep your options open.

I heard from a contact in another office that this is part of a broader push to centralize operations, so it might not be confined to just Herndon. Keep your head down and try to connect with the folks impacted if you can—they are going to need the support. Stay alert, keep your LinkedIn polished, and try not to spiral. You will get through this.
