It’s official. Just got the email/calendar invite combo that everyone dreads. They told us it was a strategic realignment to 'optimize operations,' but it’s just the same old corporate speak for cutting costs to keep the stock price happy. I’ve given years to this company, hit every target, and it’s all gone in a 10-minute Zoom call. They didn't even have the decency to do it in person. The severance package is decent, but it doesn't make up for the rug pull. To everyone still left in the office: watch your back. They’re consolidating more than they’re letting on, and the atmosphere here is absolute trash right now. I’m packing my desk and trying to get out of the building before someone from HR tries to give me a 'we're here for you' speech. Save your energy and start looking for your next move immediately. Don't fall for the loyalty trap.

I am so sorry to hear this. The way they handle these layoffs is absolutely dehumanizing. A 10-minute Zoom call after you have dedicated years of your life to their growth is a slap in the face. It is frustrating to see companies prioritize quarterly stock performance over the human beings who actually build the products. Take some time for yourself to process this, and know that your value isn't defined by a corporate 'strategic realignment.' Wishing you the best of luck with whatever comes next.

Same script, different day. I’ve seen this happen across the industry too many times now. They throw around buzzwords like 'optimizing operations' while they know exactly how much pain they’re causing. It is a harsh reminder that at the end of the day, we are just numbers on a spreadsheet to these executives. Don’t let their lack of professional courtesy make you doubt your own talent or work ethic. Collect that severance, update the resume, and don't look back at a place that clearly doesn't value its people.
