Just wanted to share for anyone else caught in the July 31st wave. I was let go earlier today. The package wasn't as generous as the ones I saw posted for the 2023 cycle, but it was enough to cover a few months of COBRA and base pay. It’s a gut punch regardless of the math. They really pushed the 'organizational alignment' narrative hard during the exit call, but it’s clear they are just trimming the fat to offset the Q2 numbers. To those still there: keep your heads down, but keep your exit strategy ready. HR was tight-lipped about whether further waves are planned for Q3, but the way they handled the paperwork made it seem like they have a template ready for more departments. Good luck to everyone currently in limbo—the severance isn't worth the stress, and the job market for med-tech is currently tighter than it looks on LinkedIn.

I am so sorry to hear this. It feels like every time they talk about 'organizational alignment,' it is just corporate speak for hitting quarterly targets at the expense of our livelihoods. It is incredibly demoralizing to see the severance packages shrinking while the company keeps pushing for higher productivity. Do not let this experience define your worth—you were clearly more than just a line item to be trimmed. Take the time you need to process this and please lean on your network. That is absolutely brutal news. I was worried this was coming after the last earnings report, but it never makes it easier when it actually hits home. It is beyond frustrating how they hide behind buzzwords during these calls instead of just being transparent about the financial pressures.
