Is it just me or has the atmosphere at BMS become noticeably more tense recently? The usual buzz seems muted, and there's a lot of quiet water cooler talk that stops abruptly when you get close. Heard from a friend in another department that budgets are reportedly tighter than expected for next quarter, leading to freezes on some non-essential hiring and travel. Doesn't directly mean layoffs, I know, but it's another data point adding to the general anxiety. Trying to remain objective and focus on my work, but the uncertainty is definitely a distraction.
