BMS - What's the official line on hiring freezes?

Curious to hear if anyone has concrete info or has heard anything official about potential hiring freezes at BMS. I know the general market is tough right now, and pharma is often seen as more stable, but there have been a lot of external signals in the industry lately. My manager has been cagey when asked about future headcount, and some of the contract roles I've seen posted seem to be getting more attention than usual for internal candidates. Not trying to stir up panic, just trying to get a clearer picture. Has anyone been told directly about a freeze or slowdown in hiring for specific departments? Any insights would be helpful for planning purposes. Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard anything official myself, but the vibe seems a bit cautious across the board. My team's been told to prioritize critical roles, and there's definitely been a longer lead time on getting new requisitions approved. It's not a full stop, but it feels like a tighter leash on new hires than we've had in the past. Keep an eye on internal mobility opportunities too, as those seem to be getting pushed.

It's definitely a wait-and-see situation. While no one's ringing alarm bells, there's an unspoken understanding that budgets are being scrutinized. Managers are likely being very deliberate about headcount requests. The focus seems to be on retaining current talent and filling only the most essential gaps. It's probably wise to manage expectations for now and be prepared for a potentially slower hiring process.
