Impact of the 108 layoffs - anyone left in the affected departments?

Is anyone hearing about the specific teams hit by the 108 cuts across the NJ sites? I saw the WARN notice drop for Lawrence, Princeton, and the others, but it’s eerily quiet on the internal channels. I’m starting to get nervous about my own org. Are these just redundant roles from the acquisitions, or is this a broader cost-cutting measure heading into Q1? My manager is being extremely vague and acting like it’s just 'normal business realignment,' but 108 people isn't a small number to just shuffle around. If you were in one of these affected hubs, please share if the cuts were broad-based or focused on specific project pipelines. Just trying to figure out if I should be refreshing my resume this weekend or if I'm safe for a few more months.

It's never 'normal business realignment' when it hits this close to home. The company has been signaling aggressive cost-cutting measures for months, and unfortunately, these WARN notices are just the public tip of the iceberg. Most of the affected folks I’ve spoken with are in R&D and support roles that were deemed 'overlap' post-merger. Management loves to use vague buzzwords to keep everyone from panicking, but the lack of transparency is standard procedure. Start polishing your resume now, because the 'alignment' usually continues well into the next quarter.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an honest answer from leadership. They’ve been repeating the same scripted lines about efficiency, but everyone knows the headcount reduction is about hitting those bottom-line targets for shareholders before the end of the fiscal year. Whether it's redundancy or structural downsizing, the result is the same for those of us left behind. The silence is intentional—they don't want a mass exodus of talent before they finish the transition. Keep your head down, monitor your internal networks closely, and definitely look for opportunities elsewhere just in case.
