Cadence - Hiring Freeze Speculation

Been at Cadence for a few years now, and the vibe feels...different lately. My team's been told to hold off on filling a couple of open reqs, and I've heard whispers about a broader hiring freeze. It's not official, of course, but the silence from leadership on new hires is deafening. Anyone else's departments seeing the same thing? Feels like a precursor to something, and I'm not sure what. Usually, there's at least *some* communication, even if it's just 'tightening the belt'. This feels more like the belt is already cinched. Trying not to panic, but it's hard not to connect the dots when you see fewer new faces and hear about projects being put on hold for 'budgetary reasons'. Curious if this is company-wide or just my area.

I've been with Cadence for a while too and definitely feel that shift you're describing. The lack of clear communication about hiring is unsettling, especially when compared to previous years. My department hasn't had explicit 'freeze' talk, but the slowdown in approvals for new roles is noticeable. It's creating a bit of an anxious atmosphere, as we're all trying to piece together what it means for us and the company's future trajectory. Hoping for some clarity soon.

Interesting post. My experience at Cadence has been quite the opposite in terms of hiring communication, thankfully. We haven't seen any indication of a freeze in my area, and leadership has been fairly transparent about project pipelines and staffing needs. However, I'm not in a directly comparable division, so it's possible this is more localized. Still, it's concerning to hear about potential slowdowns and the resulting uncertainty. Keep us updated if you hear anything more concrete.
