It is honestly disgusting how they treat people who have been the backbone of the software stack for years. You spend your life building out these projects, pouring in late nights and weekends, only to be treated like a rounding error on a balance sheet. The silence from management is deafening. Everyone knew things were feeling shaky, but seeing it confirmed with a WARN notice makes the reality of the corporate greed impossible to ignore. Sending strength to everyone on that list; this company clearly stopped valuing its talent a long time ago.
I was worried this was coming, but seeing it officially posted is still a shock. Seventy people is a massive chunk of that site, and it’s going to ripple out and impact the teams that are left behind. People are definitely feeling the tension and the uncertainty is making it impossible to focus on actual work. If you are one of the ones impacted, please make sure you connect with the folks who have already moved on—there’s a lot of talent in that group, and hopefully, you all land somewhere that actually respects what you bring to the table.
