Anyone else feeling the chill? Q2 hiring trends?

Hey folks, been seeing a lot of internal buzz and some project slowdowns lately. Doesn't *feel* like the usual summer lull. Has anyone else noticed a significant drop in new reqs being posted or a general tightening of the belt on approvals? Especially wondering about tech/product roles. The Discover acquisition is still fresh, and while we haven't seen mass layoffs *yet*, I'm trying to gauge if this is a widespread feeling or just my team/department. Curious to hear what others are observing across different areas of the bank. Are managers being more cagey about future plans? Are performance reviews suddenly carrying more weight than usual? Just trying to get a pulse check on where things might be heading. Anyone have insights from their corner of CapOne?

I've definitely felt a shift too, especially in the last month or so. Fewer new roles popping up than I'd expect for this time of year, and the approval process for even minor expenses seems more scrutinized. My team's been talking about it, wondering if it's related to the Discover integration or just a broader market trend impacting us. Curious to hear if others in different divisions are seeing something similar, particularly in non-tech areas.

From my vantage point, things seem to be holding steady, at least on my end. We're still actively recruiting for several key positions, and I haven't noticed any significant roadblocks in project funding or approvals. Perhaps the impact is being felt more acutely in certain departments or at specific levels. The Discover acquisition is certainly a big change, but from what I've seen internally, it's more about integration planning than immediate cost-cutting measures affecting hiring.
