Is anyone else feeling the churn?

Been at Capital One for a few years now, and lately the vibe feels... different. Projects are getting reassigned, teams are subtly restructuring, and there's this underlying tension that wasn't there before. It's not just me, I've talked to a few people in other departments and they're sensing it too. It's not outright panic mode yet, but the constant 'optimization' talk and the news about other banks doing cuts makes you wonder when our turn might be. Anyone else experiencing this shift? It's tough to stay focused when you're constantly bracing for impact. Just looking to see if this feeling is widespread or if I'm just overthinking it.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed the shift too. It's like the company's trying to tighten things up, but the communication around it is pretty vague. Lots of 'efficiency drives' and 'synergy sessions' that don't really translate into clear direction for us on the ground. Makes it hard to feel secure when the goalposts seem to be moving constantly and nobody's quite sure why. Hoping it's just a temporary phase and things stabilize soon.

I'm with you. That feeling of unease has been creeping in for a while. It’s the little things – the increased scrutiny on expenses, the way certain initiatives just seem to evaporate without explanation. It creates a lot of uncertainty. Trying to stay focused on my work, but it’s tough when you’re constantly scanning the horizon for what might come next. Just wish there was more transparency about the 'why' behind these changes.
