I'm in a similar boat, though on the business operations side. The constant talk about 'streamlining' and 'optimizing' has definitely put me on edge. It's like they're trying to butter us up before dropping some bad news. My team lead also seems to be walking on eggshells when discussing future projects. I haven't seen any hard numbers either, but the overall vibe is definitely one of caution. Keep your ears to the ground, and maybe start dusting off that resume just in case.
Honestly, I think 'reorgs' are just the corporate flavor of the month. Every company goes through these cycles of restructuring. 'Efficiency' and 'synergy' are buzzwords they trot out regardless of whether layoffs are imminent or if they're just trying to shuffle some departments around. Unless you're seeing explicit communication about budget cuts or hiring freezes, I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Focus on your work and wait for concrete information before stressing too much.
