Bethesda site hit again. Who is actually left?

Just saw the WARN notice for the 44 people let go in Bethesda. It’s funny how they frame this as 'optimizing structure' while the rest of us are drowning in work because we’re backfilling for people who were walked out months ago. I’ve been at Carrier for five years and I’ve never seen the morale this low. Every time I get a meeting invite on a Friday afternoon, my heart skips a beat. Are we just going to keep slicing the headcount until there’s no one left to actually keep the operations running? The silence from the executive suite is deafening. They talk about 'strategic growth' in the quarterly town halls, but the ground reality is a constant revolving door of departures. If you’re still there, start polishing that resume now. Don't wait for the next notice to hit the state website before you start looking for an exit plan. It feels like the company is being hollowed out from the inside out.

It is getting ridiculous. I survived the last three rounds of cuts, but honestly, at this point, I’m just waiting for my own turn. You can’t keep slashing the workforce and expecting the same output from the remaining staff without burning everyone out. The constant fear of those Friday afternoon calendar pings is exactly why so many talented people are already looking for the exits. Management calls it 'optimizing,' but anyone actually on the floor knows it is just a slow-motion dismantling of the company’s core capabilities.

I remember when working here meant stability, but that feels like a lifetime ago. The 'optimizing structure' line is pure corporate speak to mask the fact that they are gutting the Bethesda site to prop up short-term margins. It’s a race to the bottom that ignores the reality of our actual operations. I’m tired of hearing about efficiency when my team is literally doing the work of three people just to keep the lights on. If they don't stop this cycle soon, there won't be anyone left to train the replacements.
