Carrier culture feels like it’s hitting a breaking point

Is it just me, or has the vibe at Carrier completely shifted over the last six months? Between the constant restructuring and the recurring layoffs, morale is absolutely in the gutter. I’ve been here a few years and I’ve never seen the place feel this soulless. It feels like every time we turn around, there’s another 'efficiency' initiative that just results in more work for the people who managed to survive the last round of cuts. My manager is checked out, leadership is silent, and the fear of being the next name on a list makes it impossible to actually focus on delivery. I'm exhausted from trying to do the job of two people while waiting for the other shoe to drop. Anyone else feeling like the strategy here is just 'fire until we reach profitability'? Seriously considering checking the job boards tonight, because this isn't sustainable.

It is honestly exhausting. I’ve seen so many talented people walk out the door recently that it feels like the institutional knowledge is just evaporating. Every time they announce another 'transformation' plan, the rest of us just brace for more burnout. The disconnect between what leadership says about innovation and what we’re actually dealing with on the ground is widening by the day. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly wondering if your team is next on the chopping block.

You aren't imagining things. The atmosphere has definitely curdled lately. It feels like the focus has shifted entirely to optics and stock price metrics rather than the actual products or the people building them. I’ve stopped engaging with the company messaging because it feels completely detached from reality. At this point, most of us are just keeping our heads down and quietly updating our resumes. It’s a shame, but the culture here has clearly reached a point of no return.
