Carrier's strategic shifts - impacting headcount?

Curious to hear from others about the strategic direction Carrier is taking, especially regarding the recent focus on digital transformation and HVAC solutions. While the press releases sound positive, I'm wondering how these shifts are translating to the ground level. Are we seeing consolidation of roles? Or perhaps new roles emerging that require different skill sets, potentially leading to some difficult transitions for existing employees? I haven't seen any formal layoff announcements, but there's been a lot of internal talk about 'synergies' and 'optimizing our workforce.' Feels like a corporate buzzword bingo session sometimes, but I'm concerned it might be a precursor to actual headcount reductions in certain areas. Anyone in a position to shed some light on the real impact of these strategic moves?

I've been with the company for a while and can confirm that the strategic focus on digital and HVAC isn't just talk. While there haven't been broad, announced layoffs, some departments have definitely seen a restructuring. It seems like they're trying to streamline operations and invest in areas with higher growth potential, which naturally means some roles are being re-evaluated or consolidated. New skill sets are definitely in demand, especially around data analytics and advanced controls for HVAC systems. It's a transition period for sure.

From what I've gathered, the 'strategic shifts' are indeed leading to some subtle but significant changes internally. It's less about mass layoffs and more about a targeted reallocation of resources. Some teams are growing, particularly those directly supporting the digital transformation initiatives and the core HVAC business expansion. However, this does mean that roles not aligned with these priorities might be less secure, or employees may need to upskill to remain relevant. The company culture is adapting, and it's certainly creating a dynamic environment for everyone.
