Stagnant growth and the 'optimization' buzzword

I’m getting tired of the corporate speak during the town halls. They talk about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but we all know it’s just code for slicing heads to make the margin look better for shareholders. It’s hard to stay motivated when you see colleagues—people who have been here for years—getting axed because some spreadsheet in corporate decided they weren't 'essential' anymore. I’ve noticed the workload on the remaining team is already becoming unsustainable. We’re being asked to do more with less, but there’s zero talk about retention bonuses or even acknowledging the stress levels. Is anyone else feeling like we’re just waiting for the next shoe to drop? I honestly feel like I’m walking on eggshells every time I log in.

It is the same old song and dance every quarter. They squeeze the headcount to puff up the EPS just long enough to hit their bonus targets, leaving the actual workers to drown in the extra tasks. Once the brain drain hits a critical point and quality starts to slip, they will just blame the front-line staff for not being 'agile' enough. I’ve seen this cycle repeat for years, and it never ends with anything other than burned-out teams and broken processes. Hang in there, but definitely keep your resume updated in the background.
