Just saw the latest WARN notice hit for California. 42 people getting the axe effective May 2nd across Alhambra, Santa Ana, and Irvine. If you’re in those offices, I hope you’ve already started refreshing your LinkedIn and reaching out to your network. It’s brutal how they keep doing this in small tranches rather than just ripping the bandage off. Leadership keeps talking about 'operational resilience' on the town halls, but the headcount just keeps dropping. Does anyone know if this is targeted at specific lines of business or just general overhead? Really starting to feel like the 'efficiency' initiatives are never going to stop. Good luck to everyone affected, I’ve been there before and it’s a nightmare.

It is the same old story with leadership. They love throwing around corporate buzzwords like 'operational resilience' while people are losing their livelihoods. These rolling layoffs are clearly designed to avoid bad press and keep us all guessing, which just destroys morale. If you are in one of those affected offices, please prioritize yourself and get out of there as soon as you can. It is obviously not a safe place to build a long-term career anymore.

I was expecting this after the internal update last month. They clearly have a specific target for cost reductions this quarter, and they are using the WARN notices to trickle out the bad news to minimize public backlash. It is frustrating that management won't be transparent about the bigger picture. At this point, I think everyone should assume their role is at risk. Keep your resume updated and start looking for a firm that actually values stability instead of this constant cycle of headcount management.
