CBRE: Slow pace on new projects, anyone feeling it?

Hey all, I've been with CBRE for a few years now, primarily in the project management side. Lately, things have felt... different. The pipeline for new projects seems significantly slower than usual, and a lot of initiatives that were supposed to kick off are either on hold or moving at a snail's pace. My direct manager is pretty tight-lipped, just saying 'market uncertainty,' but it feels like more than just a typical market fluctuation. I'm seeing fewer internal postings too, and the ones that are up have been lingering for a while. Makes me wonder if there's a general slowdown in hiring or if we're just consolidating resources. Anyone else in different departments or regions picking up on the same vibe? Is it just me or is CBRE bracing for something?

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling this too, though I'm in a different division. It's been noticeably quieter on the business development front, and conversations around new client wins feel a bit more hesitant. 'Market uncertainty' seems to be the go-to explanation for everything, but it's hard not to wonder if there are deeper strategic shifts happening behind the scenes that aren't being communicated clearly. Makes you second-guess future planning.

Interesting to hear others are noticing the slowdown. From my end, it's less about new projects and more about existing ones experiencing budget cuts or scope reductions. We're being asked to do more with less, and the efficiency drives are starting to feel like genuine resource constraints rather than just process improvements. The lack of transparency is the most frustrating part; a little honesty goes a long way.
