Is Alhambra finally closing or just trimming?

Just saw the WARN notice for the 42 heads across the CA offices, including Alhambra and Santa Ana. Everyone keeps saying it’s just 'strategic realignment' to keep the stock price floating, but the energy in the office is absolute trash. We've been through three rounds of this in the last eighteen months, and frankly, I'm exhausted from waiting for the other shoe to drop. Leadership sends out these emails about 'optimizing our footprint,' but we all know it’s just another way to slice the budget because the commercial real estate market is still playing hard to get. I’ve started updating my LinkedIn, but the market is so quiet right now that I’m terrified to jump. Is anyone else in the affected hubs hearing anything about severance packages or if this is the end of it for Q2? I’m tired of looking over my shoulder every time a calendar invite pops up from HR.

It is the same script every quarter. They call it 'strategic realignment' to keep the shareholders happy while the people doing the actual work just keep getting pushed out the door. The constant rounds of layoffs are clearly meant to mask deeper issues, but eventually, they are going to run out of fat to trim. If you are still there, protect yourself and start looking elsewhere because morale is clearly non-existent for a reason.

I have been tracking the WARN notices across the industry, and CBRE is definitely hitting the California offices particularly hard this cycle. The language about 'optimizing the footprint' is corporate speak for cutting overhead to inflate margins before the next earnings call. It is a brutal way to operate, and honestly, the uncertainty is worse than the actual layoff. If they are already three rounds deep into this, do not expect them to stop anytime soon.
