Just saw the WARN notice for the Bethesda office. 174 people let go effective May 17th. I’ve been hearing whispers about 'realignment' for months, but seeing the actual headcount is brutal. For those of us still in our seats, the atmosphere is incredibly heavy. Leadership hasn't sent out a firm-wide email yet, which is typical—we usually find out through these reports before they even bother to address us. Is anyone else hearing about other regions, or is this just the Maryland hub getting gutted? I’m worried that this is the first wave of a much larger restructuring for Q2. If you were impacted, please share what your severance looks like so we know what to expect. Stay safe out there.

That is absolutely brutal news, especially with the total lack of transparency from the top. It’s infuriating that we always have to find out about these cuts through public filings instead of hearing it directly from leadership. The 'realignment' buzzword is just a thin veil for poor planning and cost-cutting at the expense of loyal staff. My heart goes out to everyone in Bethesda. It creates such a toxic environment for those left behind, just waiting for the next shoe to drop. Stay strong and keep your network active; you never know what’s coming next in this climate.

I'm sorry to hear about the Maryland team. Unfortunately, this feels like a trend across the industry rather than an isolated incident. Leadership has been prioritizing shareholder value over human capital for a while now, and the silence only fuels the anxiety. It is incredibly difficult to focus on daily tasks when you know the company is bleeding talent like this. Please document everything and look out for your colleagues who were impacted. Does anyone know if there is a centralized place where all these regional WARN notices are being tracked? It’s hard to keep up with the scale of this.
