Anyone else feeling the unease at Celanese?

Just wanted to see if anyone else is picking up on the same vibe I am. Been here a few years now, and things just feel... different lately. There's been a lot of talk about "optimization" and "streamlining" in recent all-hands meetings, which is usually corporate speak for cuts. Management seems a bit more tight-lipped than usual, and project scopes feel like they're shrinking. No official word or rumors of actual layoffs, but the general sentiment feels like a tightening of the belt. Is anyone in other departments noticing the same? Curious if this is a company-wide thing or just my specific area. Trying not to overthink it, but it's hard not to when the whispers start.

I've noticed the same shift. The 'optimization' language is definitely a red flag for anyone who's been around the block a few times. It feels like a prelude to something, though I agree there's no concrete news. The lack of transparency from leadership is also unnerving. Makes you wonder what the real agenda is behind these changes. Hopefully, it's just a strategic realignment and not a sign of deeper issues.

Totally get where you're coming from. The atmosphere has definitely changed. While I haven't heard any direct layoff rumors, the constant talk of efficiency and streamlining does create a sense of uncertainty. Projects do seem to be under tighter scrutiny, and the general mood feels more cautious than it used to. It's hard to shake the feeling that something is brewing, even without official confirmation.
