Celanese: Anyone else feeling the pressure?

Hey all, been at Celanese for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has been... tense. We haven't had any official word on layoffs, but there's definitely a shift. Projects seem to be getting scrutinized way more heavily, and there's a general feeling of 'doing more with less.' Even internal meetings feel more focused on efficiency and cost-cutting, which is understandable given the market, but it's starting to make people nervous. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this or if it's just my department? Curious to hear what others are seeing or hearing, especially from different business units. Staying quiet but keeping an eye out.

I've noticed it too. The 'belt-tightening' is palpable. Seems like every expense is under a microscope, and the pressure to deliver without increased resources is definitely on. It's creating a bit of an anxious atmosphere, for sure. Hoping it's just a temporary adjustment to market conditions and not a sign of deeper issues.

Completely agree. The increased scrutiny on projects and the constant talk of efficiency are hard to ignore. It feels like we're being asked to walk a tightrope. While I appreciate the focus on fiscal responsibility, the lack of clear communication about the 'why' behind it all is what's really fueling the unease for many. Let's hope for more transparency soon.
