Celanese: Anyone feeling the pressure internally?

Hey all, been at Celanese for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has felt a little... tense. Not hearing any direct layoff talk, which is good, but there's definitely a different atmosphere. Projects seem to be getting scrutinized more, some discretionary spending is frozen, and you can just feel a general sense of caution. Anyone else picking up on this? Is this just standard for the chemical industry during certain economic cycles, or is there something more specific happening at Celanese that people aren't openly discussing? Curious to hear if others are seeing similar signs or if I'm just overthinking it. Trying to stay positive but also want to be realistic about the situation.

I've been with the company for a similar amount of time and I'm definitely feeling it too. It's subtle, but noticeable. The increased scrutiny on projects and the freeze on spending definitely create a more cautious environment. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but it's hard not to wonder what's driving these changes. Hopefully, it's just a cyclical thing and not a sign of deeper issues. Keeping my head down and focusing on my work for now.

Yep, picking up on the same vibes. It's not just you. The feeling of caution is pretty palpable across different departments. The chemical industry can certainly be cyclical, but this feels a bit more pointed. I've heard a few whispers about resource allocation shifts and a focus on core business areas. It's definitely a different atmosphere compared to a year or two ago. Time will tell what it all means.
