Slow hiring and budget freezes at Celanese?

Been trying to get some headcount approved for my team for months now, and it's been a frustrating uphill battle. Everything is going through multiple layers of approval, and the answer is always "we need to review the budget further." Feels like a soft freeze across the board. We lost a couple of key people recently and haven't been able to backfill them, which is really starting to impact our deliverables. Anyone else experiencing this? Feels like the company is being very cautious with spending right now, which makes me wonder about the overall financial health or future plans. Is this a sign of things to come, or just a temporary belt-tightening measure? Just trying to get a pulse on what's happening.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing in my department. It's not just you. Getting approval for anything, big or small, has become a real challenge. Seems like every request gets kicked back with the same budget concerns. We've had to reshuffle priorities and stretch existing resources thinner than I thought possible, which isn't sustainable long-term. Hoping this is a temporary measure.

Definitely not alone in this. The budget review cycle feels never-ending right now. We've had to put a lot of planned initiatives on hold because we can't get the green light for necessary resources. It's impacting morale and making it harder to hit targets. The cautious approach is understandable given the economic climate, but the lack of clarity on when things might loosen up is the most frustrating part.
