I’ve noticed the exact same thing in my department. It’s frustrating because the workload has only increased since the start of the year, yet we’re being told to just 'prioritize effectively.' When you see high-priority roles get pulled from the portal, it’s hard not to read between the lines. It feels like they are tightening the budget quietly to protect the bottom line while keeping us in the dark. Don't expect any clear communication from leadership on this; they seem content to let us burn out rather than admit there’s a freeze in place.
The lack of transparency is honestly the most annoying part of the whole situation. We keep getting these corporate emails about our 'record-breaking trajectory,' but the internal reality is just constant attrition and zero backfilling. I've stopped checking the portal altogether because it’s just demoralizing to see opportunities vanish overnight. If they’re planning to restructure, they should just come out and say it instead of playing these games with open headcount.
