Hey, I totally get the anxiety. No one wants to think about it, but planning ahead is smart. From what I've seen at other companies, aiming for 2 weeks per year of service is a decent starting point, but sometimes it's more like 1.5 weeks for shorter tenures. Definitely push for benefits continuation, at least 3-6 months if you can. Outplacement services are also super valuable for resume help and networking. Don't be afraid to negotiate if they offer something less than what you think is fair.
Honestly, with all the 'chatter,' it's probably wise to start updating that resume and lining up your network. While severance packages can vary wildly, Cencora has been pretty stable historically. Don't count on anything specific until it's official. Focus on what you *can* control right now – your professional brand and connections outside the company. If layoffs do happen, they'll likely have a standard package they roll out, and it might be tough to get them to budge significantly unless you have a strong legal case.
