Stress levels rising - anyone else feel the pressure?

Man, the atmosphere at CenterPoint feels really tense lately. I'm not seeing any official layoff news, but the workload feels heavier, and there's a general sense of uncertainty. More tasks are being piled on, and it feels like people are walking on eggshells. Are they preparing for something? Are we expected to do more with less? It's hard to focus on my actual job when I'm constantly worried about what might be coming. Management keeps talking about 'efficiency' and 'futureproofing,' but it feels like code for cuts. Just wondering if I'm alone in this feeling or if others are experiencing the same mounting pressure. It's making it tough to stay motivated.

Totally get where you're coming from. The 'efficiency' talk always feels like a preamble to something, doesn't it? It's exhausting trying to hit targets that seem to keep moving, and the lack of clear communication from leadership doesn't help matters. Just trying to keep my head down and do the work, but the background anxiety is definitely a thing. Hope things stabilize soon.

I've noticed the same shift. It's like the pace has picked up without any corresponding support. Everyone's stretched thin, and you can feel the strain. 'Futureproofing' sounds nice on paper, but when it translates to individuals feeling overwhelmed and unsure, it's a problem. Hopefully, this is just a temporary phase and not a sign of bigger changes on the horizon.
