The eerie silence is definitely being felt across the board. I’ve noticed the exact same trend in my department, where the standard project updates have completely dried up. It’s hard to focus on tickets when the internal atmosphere feels this stagnant. Those missing directory entries are usually the canary in the coal mine, and honestly, the uncertainty is worse than any official announcement would be at this point. Everyone is just hovering in the background, waiting for the other shoe to drop while trying to stay invisible.
I wouldn't overthink the radio silence too much. Sometimes these periods of inactivity are just seasonal lulls or a shift in management priorities that haven't trickled down to us yet. If the calendars are empty, take the gift of time to polish your internal documentation or work on those back-burner tasks that never get finished. It’s stressful when people start disappearing from the org chart, but panicking in the Slack channels won't change the outcome. Just keep your head down and ride it out until there is actually something concrete to react to.
