Anyone else feeling uneasy about 'restructuring' rumors?

I've been at Schwab for 7 years now, in the tech department supporting the trading platform. Lately, there's been a lot of hushed conversations and closed-door meetings. My manager has been super vague, and the general vibe is…off. Remember the TD Ameritrade integration? We were told 'no layoffs' and then BAM! I'm not saying it's happening for sure, but the 'restructuring' talk is setting off alarm bells. Anyone else hearing/seeing anything similar in their departments? Especially curious if anyone in the advisor services area knows anything.

I'm in a branch office role and yeah, the same feeling is palpable here. Lots of talk about 'efficiency improvements' and 'streamlining processes,' which is usually code for someone's job getting cut. I've seen this movie before. Start updating your resume now, just in case. It's better to be prepared than caught off guard if the worst does happen. Good luck to us all!

Honestly, these kinds of rumors are perpetual at big companies. Remember when everyone was convinced Schwab was moving its headquarters to Texas after the TD deal? Didn't happen. I wouldn't put too much stock into it until you see official announcements. Focus on doing your job well and try to ignore the noise. Panicking won't help anyone. Just my two cents.
