Just saw the WARN notice for the Rantoul, IL office. Another 75 people getting the boot on Sept 16th. It’s getting hard to keep track of the headcount reductions at this point. I’ve been with the firm for a few years and the morale is absolutely tanking. You walk into the office and half the desks are empty or belong to people who are just waiting for their number to be called. Management keeps sending out those 'we are committed to efficiency' emails, but we all know that's corporate speak for 'cutting costs to satisfy the street.' Is anyone actually safe right now, or are they just playing whack-a-mole with departments until the end of the year? If you’re at Rantoul, update your resume immediately. Don't wait for the calendar invite from HR. It’s honestly depressing watching what this place has turned into.

It is honestly exhausting watching the constant churn. I’ve been through three rounds of layoffs in my department alone, and at this point, the 'efficiency' messaging just feels like a slap in the face. Everyone is looking for the exit because the writing is on the wall. They talk about future growth while gutting the teams that actually keep the lights on. It’s impossible to feel motivated when your coworkers are being treated like disposable assets rather than people who helped build this place.

I’m sorry you’re going through that. I left a few months ago after seeing the direction things were heading, and honestly, it was the best decision for my mental health. You stop being a person once you become a line item on a spreadsheet for them. Don't waste your energy trying to please management or worrying about the company's long-term vision. Spend your time updating your resume and networking elsewhere, because those empty desks are only going to keep multiplying as the year progresses.
