Just saw the WARN notice for the Rantoul facility. Looks like another 75 heads on the chopping block as of the 16th. My manager is still giving us the 'business as usual' talk, but how can they keep a straight face when every month there’s another office getting cleared out? It feels like they’re just slicing off pieces of the firm until there’s nothing left in the regional hubs. If you’re at one of these satellite locations, please make sure you’ve got your personal files backed up and your resume updated. The silence from leadership is deafening, as usual. We’re just line items on a spreadsheet to them at this point.

This is classic Schwab corporate culture—keep the smile on while the ship is taking on water. I’ve seen this exact cycle play out in my department before. Management loves to preach stability and 'long-term focus' right up until the day they lock your access and hand you a cardboard box. If you're in Rantoul or any regional office, assume you are on the list. Dust off the resume tonight, scrub your personal data from their servers, and start reaching out to your network before the internal job boards become your only option.

It’s honestly getting exhausting watching the steady drip of layoffs. They claim it’s about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but it feels more like they are slowly dismantling the infrastructure to satisfy shareholders at the cost of actual people. The lack of transparency from leadership is infuriating, especially when they act like it’s business as usual. Anyone left in those hubs needs to look out for themselves. Don't wait for the official notification to start looking for your next move; the writing is clearly on the wall for these regional sites.
