Hey all, been lurking for a while and decided to finally post. I'm in the upstream division at Chevron and there's been a palpable sense of unease lately. Nothing concrete, no official announcements, but the whispers are getting louder. Been hearing from a few folks in HR and some managers about 'restructuring' and 'efficiency improvements.' It always sounds like corporate jargon for 'someone's losing their job.' Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on similar vibes, especially in other departments? Trying to get a sense if this is company-wide or just isolated to certain areas. Hoping it's nothing, but my gut feeling is telling me otherwise. Anyone have any insights or similar experiences at other energy giants? Staying positive, but starting to update the resume just in case.

I hear you. The whispers about 'restructuring' are definitely circulating in my department too. It's tough when there's so much uncertainty and no clear communication. Yeah, the atmosphere has been pretty tense. It feels like every informal chat has a subtext of 'what does this mean for us?' The 'efficiency improvements' narrative is getting old, and frankly, it breeds anxiety. Management needs to get ahead of this and provide some clarity, or the rumors will just keep growing and impacting morale even more.
