Chevron - Anyone else's team/department feeling the pinch?

Just joined this forum and saw some general discussion about layoffs in energy. Curious if anyone at Chevron is experiencing a slowdown or seeing projects get shelved? My team's workload has definitely decreased over the last quarter, and there's been a noticeable increase in 'budget review' meetings. It's not outright panic mode yet, but the vibe is definitely more cautious than usual. Management is tight-lipped, which is pretty standard, but the lack of clarity is starting to get to people. Been with the company for a few years and this feels different from previous cycles. Anyone else's area seeing similar trends? Are you hearing any internal talk about hiring freezes or, worse, actual headcount reductions being planned? Trying to get a feel for the temperature across the company. Appreciate any insights, even if it's just anecdotal.

Yeah, I'm seeing something similar. It's not just a feeling, the project pipeline has definitely slowed down considerably. We've had a few 're-prioritization' discussions lately that feel like they're leading somewhere unpleasant. The budget reviews are constant, and it feels like every single expense is being scrutinized with a magnifying glass. It’s hard not to worry when the upper brass is suddenly so quiet about future initiatives. Definitely a shift in the atmosphere here.

I can confirm the cautious vibe. There's a lot of uncertainty filtering down, and the usual buzz around new opportunities has gone quiet. It feels like everyone's just holding their breath, waiting for the other shoe to drop. The lack of communication from leadership isn't helping, just creating more speculation and unease among the teams. Hoping it's just a temporary dip, but the signs are concerning.
