Chevron - Is anyone else seeing a hiring freeze or slowdown?

So, I've been keeping an eye on internal job boards and also external postings for Chevron. Feels like the number of new roles being posted has slowed down considerably over the past couple of months. Even roles that typically get filled quickly seem to be lingering. And some internal transfers I was expecting haven't materialized. It's not a full-blown layoff announcement, but it *feels* like a hiring freeze or at least a significant slowdown is in effect. Anyone in recruiting or management have any insight? Are we bracing for impact or is this just standard cyclical stuff for the industry? Trying to get a read on the situation without causing undue panic, but the lack of new hires is definitely noticeable.

I've noticed something similar, though anecdotally. Been trying to move internally and it's been much slower than usual. The usual buzz of activity seems to have quieted down quite a bit across a few departments I'm familiar with. It's definitely making people a bit nervous, wondering what the strategy is or if something bigger is brewing behind the scenes. Hoping it's just a temporary adjustment.

Interesting you bring this up. From a vendor perspective, we've also seen a definite slowdown in new project approvals and recruitment drives. Budgets seem tighter, and there's a lot more scrutiny on hiring requests. It's not just one department either, seems like a broader trend across the company. Makes you wonder if they're consolidating, preparing for a downturn, or just reassessing their workforce needs strategically.
