Chevron - Is anyone seeing internal reorgs or whispers of headcount review?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter across different platforms about potential layoffs in the energy sector, and Chevron is mentioned quite a bit. Just wanted to see if anyone here at Chevron has been hearing anything concrete or seeing any signs internally. I haven't received any direct communication, but there have been a few whispers in my department about 'resource optimization' and some teams are apparently undergoing 'efficiency reviews.' It feels a bit like the calm before a storm, and frankly, it's making me a little uneasy. My performance reviews have been solid, and I'm hitting all my targets, but you never know how these things play out. Anyone else in a similar boat or heard anything more specific about headcount adjustments coming down the pipeline? Trying to gauge the general sentiment and whether this is just sector-wide noise or something more specific to us. Curious to hear what others are experiencing.

I haven't heard anything specific about layoffs, but there have definitely been some shifts in project priorities and a general sense of 'watchful waiting' across several teams. The language around 'efficiency' and 'optimization' is certainly being used more frequently. It's hard to say if it's just standard business cycle adjustments or something more significant, but I'm keeping an ear to the ground.

Funny you mention that. While I haven't seen any official announcements or widespread rumors, there's been a subtle increase in meetings discussing departmental alignment and budget reviews. Some colleagues have speculated about restructuring, but it's all very hush-hush. The 'resource optimization' phrase has popped up in a few internal communications I've seen, which does feel like code for something.
