San Ramon campus hit again - 180 impacted

Just saw the WARN notice drop for the San Ramon office. Looks like another 180 people are getting the boot effective September. Honestly, at this point, it’s just a slow bleed. Every time they talk about 'synergies' or 'strategic alignment' in the town halls, you know the axe is coming for another department. I feel for the folks caught in this round, especially with how difficult the job market is looking for energy roles right now. I’ve been here for over a decade and the culture shift has been brutal—it’s strictly numbers on a spreadsheet now, no regard for the human capital that actually keeps the pumps running. Is anyone hearing if there’s a severance package attached or is it just the standard bare minimum? Checking in to see if anyone in the impacted groups has heard anything official yet, or if we’re all just refreshing our emails waiting for the calendar invite.

It is honestly exhausting watching the same cycle repeat every few months. Management keeps tossing around buzzwords about efficiency and structural alignment, but we all know it just means cutting heads to keep the stock price propped up. I feel terrible for the 180 colleagues being pushed out. At this stage, it feels less like a strategic shift and more like a company that has completely lost its sense of direction and loyalty to its long-term workforce. Good luck to everyone scrambling for new roles right now.

Sad news, but sadly not surprising. Anyone who has been paying attention to the executive briefings lately knew more cuts were inevitable. They talk about streamlining, but it just creates more work for those of us left behind while morale tanks. I hate that it’s become so routine to hear about these massive layoffs every quarter. If you’re impacted, definitely start hitting up your network immediately. The market is tough, but there is still some movement in the renewables and transition space if you look hard enough.
