San Ramon headcount reduction: Who is actually safe?

I’ve been checking the internal directories and notice more grayed-out names every single morning. It’s not just the 180 people mentioned in the WARN notice for September; there’s a persistent, quiet attrition happening across departments that never makes the headlines. Leadership keeps talking about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but we all know that’s just corporate-speak for cutting the muscle to keep the dividends fat. I’m currently in a group that was told we were 'critical' back in Q1, but after seeing the recent movement, I don’t think anyone below the VP level has real job security anymore. Has anyone else heard whispers about another wave coming in Q4? The mood in the hallways is completely dead, and frankly, I’m tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Might as well start dusting off the resume now while the market still has a pulse.

Don't buy the 'critical' label for a second. I’ve seen that movie before, and it’s usually the final line they feed you right before they dissolve your entire department. The grayed-out names aren't a glitch; they are a calculated thinning of the herd. If you are in San Ramon, start polishing your resume now, because 'operational efficiency' is just their way of saying they don't care who they burn to keep the stock price propped up. Get out while you can still control the timing of your exit.
