The silence from HR is by design to keep anxiety high and prevent any collective bargaining or organized questions. If you are in San Ramon, check your original offer letter and look for any clauses regarding 'discretionary' packages. They want people to sign away their rights quietly before the reality of the payout hits. Don't sign anything until you have a clear breakdown in writing of the exact weeks of pay and benefit coverage. If they aren't being transparent now, assume the worst and prepare to negotiate or consult an employment lawyer if you have tenure.
It's honestly a slap in the face. Everyone saw the earnings reports this year, so the 'restructuring' narrative is just a thin veil for padding the bottom line at our expense. I know people in the same boat; the lack of communication is deliberate to keep morale from completely cratering while they move people out. Keep leaning on your network—don't rely on HR to give you the straight answer. Reach out to anyone you know who was let go in the previous rounds to see if they actually saw those 'enhanced' terms manifest. Protect your interests first.
