Anyone else feeling the burnout from the 'streamlining'?

Is it just my department, or is the workload getting completely unsustainable? We’ve had a few departures recently—some forced, some just people jumping ship before they get caught in the crossfire—and none of the roles are being backfilled. We’re being told to 'do more with less' and 'leverage the new systems,' but the systems are clunky and the manual work is piling up. I feel like we’re spending more time in meetings justifying our output than actually getting the work done. I’ve been here for a few years, and the culture has really shifted from a decent place to work into a constant state of anxiety. It feels like there’s a new announcement every other month about a shift in strategy. I’m starting to wonder if the 401k match is even worth the stress at this point. Anyone else planning an exit strategy before the next round of WARN notices hits?

It is definitely not just your department. The 'streamlining' narrative is consistent across almost every division right now. They are cutting headcount while rolling out half-baked tech that creates more work than it saves. The leadership expects everyone to absorb the responsibilities of the departures without any adjustment to the expectations or timelines. I have noticed the morale plummeting as people realize that 'doing more with less' is just code for running us into the ground. You are not alone in feeling this way, and honestly, the burnout is hitting everyone pretty hard.

I have been watching the same patterns unfold here for months. The constant shuffling and lack of backfills is clearly intentional, but it is creating an impossible environment for those of us left holding the bag. I agree that the administrative burden of these new systems is a massive time sink. It feels like we are stuck in a cycle of performative efficiency where we spend half the day explaining why we are falling behind rather than being given the resources to actually finish the tasks. It is exhausting, and it is pretty obvious that the culture is shifting toward squeezing out whatever is left.
