Chubb - Anyone else's manager suddenly asking for way more detail on projects?

What's up with this lately? My manager, who's usually pretty hands-off with the day-to-day, has started digging into every single task and asking for very granular updates. Like, 'What exactly did you do in that 2-hour block?' and 'Can you justify the time spent on X?' It feels different from the usual performance check-ins. It's not just about progress, but about resource allocation and efficiency. I'm wondering if this is a company-wide push from higher up. Is anyone else seeing this level of detailed scrutiny on project time and resource usage? It's making me feel like I have to constantly defend my time, and it's definitely not helping with productivity. Makes you wonder what they're looking for or planning.

Yeah, I've noticed something similar. My manager has been asking for more frequent and detailed project breakdowns lately. It used to be more about the bigger picture, but now it feels like a deep dive into the weeds of each task. I'm trying to stay organized and document everything, but it does feel like a shift in how things are being managed. Definitely seeing this on my end too. It's gotten to the point where I'm spending more time documenting my time than actually doing the work, which is ironic given the focus on efficiency. My manager's questions are becoming incredibly specific, almost micromanage-y.
