Chubb - Is anyone else seeing increased scrutiny on expenses?

Been at Chubb for a few years now, and lately it feels like every single expense is getting an audit. Travel requests are being denied left and right, and even small team lunches are being questioned. It's creating a pretty negative vibe, and frankly, it feels like a prelude to something. Usually, this level of belt-tightening happens when a company is anticipating a downturn or making cuts. Has anyone else noticed this? Or am I just being paranoid? Wondering if this is a company-wide thing or just my department. The communication has been pretty vague, which doesn't help the anxiety. Just trying to get a pulse on what's going on out there.

Yes, I've definitely noticed the same thing. It feels like a lot more hoops to jump through for even basic business expenses. My team's travel requests have been under a microscope, and the justification needed for seemingly small items is way more intense than it used to be. It's definitely impacting morale and making people hesitant to incur any costs, even when necessary for the job. Hoping it's just a temporary phase.

I haven't experienced it quite to that extent, but I have seen a tightening around expense approvals in my department. Things that used to be rubber-stamped now require more detailed explanations. It's certainly a change from how things were even a year ago. It's hard not to read into it, but I'm trying to stay focused on my work and not let the administrative changes get to me too much.
