The shift in culture is definitely real. It’s hard to trust the ‘efficiency’ talk when people are getting hit with WARN notices without any heads-up. Everyone is walking on eggshells now, waiting for the other shoe to drop. It used to be a place where you felt secure enough to plan long-term, but that sense of stability has completely evaporated over the last couple of years. When leadership stays silent, it just fuels the rumor mill and kills whatever morale is left. They need to stop with the corporate jargon and be transparent about what’s actually happening.
I was at the Lancaster site when the news broke, and the vibe is just heavy right now. Those of us left are mostly just looking over our shoulders, wondering if our department is next on the list. I’ve noticed the same trend—constant buzzwords about streamlining operations, but absolutely zero clarity on the actual roadmap. It’s draining to put in the effort when you’re constantly questioning if you’ll have a desk next month. I’m starting to look at other options because this ‘new normal’ at C&D just isn’t sustainable for anyone looking for a career rather than a temporary gig.
