Cigna culture in 2025: Is there any stability left?

Is it just me, or does it feel like we’re playing a permanent game of musical chairs? With the latest 62 cuts in Morris Plains, the vibe in the office is completely dead. We keep hearing about 'strategic alignment' and 'efficiency,' but all it really translates to is more work for the people who manage to survive the latest round. I’ve been with the company for a while now, and the shift in tone since last year is palpable. Leadership keeps talking about growth, but the headcount tells a totally different story. I’m currently updating my resume and LinkedIn because I’m tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Has anyone else started looking elsewhere? I’m genuinely curious if there’s any part of this company that isn’t currently under a hiring freeze or facing potential consolidation.

It is honestly exhausting. Every time they announce another 'alignment,' I feel like I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. The morale in my department is nonexistent because nobody knows if they'll still be sitting at their desk next month. They keep preaching about growth and innovation, but it is impossible to innovate when you are just scrambling to cover the responsibilities of the three people who were laid off last week. The corporate speak is becoming impossible to stomach at this point.

I have been seeing the same patterns across the board. Leadership acts like these cuts are purely strategic, but they are clearly just trying to prop up the numbers for the shareholders at the expense of our sanity. I’ve started updating my resume on my lunch breaks because the writing is on the wall. It’s no longer about whether you do good work or meet your goals; it’s just about which department is next on the chopping block. Better to have an exit plan ready before they decide your role is 'inefficient' too.
